Color filter

Find photos with a similar palette using Lightokay's automatic color index.

Lightokay extracts the dominant colors of every photo, so you can filter a library by color and find shots with a similar look in seconds.

When it helps

  • Culling a shoot: pick out the frames from the same light or scene among hundreds.
  • Design work: find reference images and assets that match a brand color.
  • Video covers: find stills that match the mood of your footage.
  • Moodboards: gather cool, warm or saturated images together.

How to use it

  1. Open a library in any view.
  2. Open the filter bar and choose the color filter.
  3. Pick a color on the color wheel or from the swatches.
  4. The view narrows down to photos whose dominant colors are close to it.

The Color index entry in the sidebar groups the whole library by color.

Combine it with other filters

  • Color + date: one session's look on one day.
  • Color + tags: brand assets in a particular color.
  • Color + format: only RAW files, or only exported JPGs.
